Export Packing Credit (EPC) Limit

Export Packing Credit is a pre-shipment working-capital facility given to exporters to purchase raw materials, manufacture/process goods, pack them, and prepare the shipment.

How the limit is decided:

* Export order / confirmed export contract or LC
* Raw-material and production cost
* Export cycle and time required
* Past export turnover and banking track record
* Margin/security required by the bank
* Existing working-capital limits

Banks generally calculate the finance on a need-based basis against specific or continuous export orders, considering the production/procurement cycle.
