Indian garment exporters are watching the EU trade deal. European buyers are not watching - they are already choosing their Indian suppliers.

Understand the past three years of India's garment exports to Europe. In 2025, more than 3,000 European buyers placed their first-ever order with an Indian garment supplier. Most European buyers start with a small trial shipment, and less than half (41%) placed a second order within a year.

When the duty advantage arrives in 2027, it arrives for every Indian exporter on the same day. By then, EU buyers will already know who they trust.

The choosing happens before the advantage, not after.
